Scott W. Brown serves as the Project Director and Co-Principal Investigator (Co-PI). Dr. Brown is a UConn Board of Trustees Distinguished Professor of Educational Psychology at the Neag School of Education at the University of Connecticut. He has published three books/monographs on issues related to educational psychology, and published over 150 refereed journal articles and book chapters in the field of educational psychology, educational technology, learning and cognition. He has presented over 300 papers at professional conferences. He has been a visiting professor at Utah State University and Victoria University (Wellington, New Zealand). In over 25 years of service at the University of Connecticut he has held positions as the Director of the Teachers for a New Era project, Director of the Bureau of Educational Research and Service, and the department head for Educational Psychology. Kimberly A. Lawless serves as Co-Principal Investigator (PI). She is the Associate Dean for Research and Professor of Educational Psychology and Language, Literacy, and Culture at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Dr. Lawless studies how individuals acquire and comprehend information from nonlinear digital environments, focusing on how aspects of the learner, the media, and the task influence navigational strategy and learning outcomes. She has procured over five million dollars in grant funding and published over 100 articles in these areas.
